Our beautiful Moonglow is hopefully now expecting a little one. Sweet Midnight Moonglow was born and raised right here on Saltbush Flats. She is the daughter of our sweet Mia. Moonie is so sweet, she has turned out to be a great little heifer. We know she will be a great mama.

First Snow on the Ranchlet!
It was a cold 20 degree morning. Brrrrr!!!!
A half inch of snow covered the ground. Beautiful!
First thing outside what did we see?
These little fellows must be very hungry to be searching all over the ranchlet for food. Feeding the wild birds, quail, and doves is part of our morning chores. They were very happy when food was put out for them.
We found Bruce and Lucy just talking and having fun just like every other morning. They seemed to love the snow.
The chickens were not too thrilled with this little overnight delight of white and headed straight to the barn to scratch and play away from all this snow.
Mia, she did not care one way or the other. All she was concerned about this morning was getting to her morning grain and hay.
Tubby did not want to go outside, but I lovingly scooped him up and tossed his little furball right out the door. One quick trip around in the snow and he had had enough. He cried at the door to come back inside. Our sweet little Braveheart.
*Remember this big fellow is the Head of Ranchlet Security!
While everyone was busy taking care of things this morning, here lies Molly. We could all learn a lesson from Molly!
Molly, the cute little thing, would not even go outside. After this morning's chores we came in freezing cold and found Molly all curled up asleep in her favorite overstuffed chair. As we stood in front of the fireplace warming our fingers and toes, we soon realized the wisdom in Molly's decision. Molly, you are an inspiration to us all.
We hope you are enjoying the snow as much as we are here at Saltbush Flats!!!!

Welcome Mia!!
Welcome Mia!!
Mia arrived at Saltbush Flats September 3. Yes, I am a little late in posting this welcome simply because Mia keeps us busy, but it is a wonderful kind of busy. smiles.
Mia is a seven year old retired registered show Jersey. She is so sweet and lovable. She loves to be petted and will even give hugs in return.
Saltbush Flats will be blessed with Mia's little calf the first week of November. This is going to be some calf. Mia is bred to a registered Jersey show bull.
Mia fits right in here at Saltbush Flats. She is comfortable and happy... and very much spoiled.
We are anxious for her little calf. We are hoping for a beauty of a little girl. We are also looking forward to her fresh milk. cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream... yum

Typically Tubby - Life Is Good!
Life is good...
I get to relax and enjoy my day in my most favorite place.... atop the piano. ahhh.... sweet life.
Ah, rats! Something awoke me from my slumber.
I heard her, and then I SAW her. Right out my window!!!
Why she must think she lives here.
There she is again out another window. How can a fellow rest with her always hanging around? She is everywhere I turn.
Someone has got to set her straight on just who is in charge here. As head of ranchlet security I am just the one for the job. No ordinary cat will do.
How did she get inside of the wall?
Wow, I am exhausted. Taking care of cow sure is hard work.
zzzzzzzz...

She needs to learn her place. It is not inside the wall, but way, way, way out in the pasture far away from MY favorite places.
Wow, I am exhausted. Taking care of cow sure is hard work.

Typically Tubby - Cat Meets Cow
What were they thinking? Bringing some new animal to MY ranch. They did not even ask me first. Why you would think that I had no say in what goes on around here.
As Head of Ranchlet Security, I should be consulted before any decision .
Especially when they bring in something like this.
Why she is as big as a cow!!!
